Jai Veer Engineering Works

We are located in Gala No 13 and 14 over at the Koppergaon Estate in Byculla. It’s right across from the Mazgaon Telephone Exchange, so it’s fairly easy to find once you get into the industrial area. We do engineering work here, which mostly means we’re working with metal and machines all day long. It’s not a clean job. We usually have grease on our hands and metal shavings on our clothes. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that stay busy most of the time. People bring us parts that are broken or they need something specific made from scratch. We don’t have an office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just work in the galas with the doors open to let the air in. It gets quite loud when the machines are all running at once. Byculla is a hub for this kind of work, so we have plenty of neighbors doing similar things. We’ve been here for a good while and we know how to handle the equipment. We don’t make a big fuss about things. If someone has a job, we look at it, tell them if we can do it, and then get to work. It’s honest, manual work that keeps us occupied from morning until evening. Sometimes a project is tricky and we have to scratch our heads for a bit, but we usually figure it out.
