If you walk down J.R. Boricha Marg in Mahalaxmi you might hear us before you see us. We are located behind Arthur Road, right in Rm Dev Nagar. It’s a busy part of Mumbai and there is always something going on outside our door. We deal with beats and music mostly. This isn't some corporate office with glass walls and quiet rooms. It is a place where instruments are moved around and people come in to talk about their celebrations. The space is filled with the stuff we use for our work and sometimes it feels a little cramped but that’s just Mumbai for you. We’ve been at this address for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Being near the Mahalaxmi area means we are always in the middle of the city’s heart. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult when we have to move equipment but we manage. My family has been involved in this kind of work for a long time. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing fancy marketing. Most of our day is spent checking the gear or talking to people who drop by the shop. It is a loud and lively life but we wouldn't have it any other way. There is a certain rhythm to the street here that matches what we do. We just keep our heads down and work hard every day for the people who need music.
