J. K. Engineering

J. K. Engineering is located out at Slu W-43 in the Additional M.I.D.C area. Being in an industrial zone means we are surrounded by factories and warehouses. It’s a lot of concrete and metal out here. Our daily routine is pretty set in stone. We arrive early, get the machines warmed up, and start working through the orders we have for the week. The shop floor is always a bit messy with metal shavings and oil, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. We do engineering work that requires a lot of attention to detail, so we spend a lot of time looking at parts through magnifying glasses or measuring them with calipers. It’s quiet work in some ways, but the background hum of the industrial estate is always there. We have a small break area where we eat lunch and talk about the news or whatever else is going on. We don't really have customers walking in off the street like a retail shop would. Most of our interactions are over the phone or with delivery guys who come to pick up finished parts. It’s a steady pace of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the M.I.D.C, we just want to get through our list of tasks and make sure everything is done decently before we lock up.
