Ishan Travels

Ishan Travels is based right here in Kalyan Wadi, Dharavi. If you know this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and moving. We started out small and we’re still pretty much a local operation. We mostly help people with travel plans, like booking tickets or arranging cars when they need to go out of the city. It’s a small space, nothing like those big travel agencies you see in malls. Most of our customers are neighbors or people who’ve been coming to us for years. We know the roads around here well. Dealing with traffic is just part of the daily routine. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic with last-minute bookings, but we do what we can. It’s a family-run kind of feel. We don't have a big website or anything, just a desk and a couple of chairs for people to sit while we figure out their routes. The office is usually open quite late because that's when most people have time to drop by after work. We talk about where they want to go, check the prices, and get it done. It's honest work. We like being in Dharavi, it’s got a lot of energy and there is always someone needing a ride or a train ticket. We just keep things moving one day at a time. It’s not always easy, but we enjoy the interaction with everyone who walks through the door. It makes the long hours feel worth it in the end.
