Our office is in A-34, Devyani, which is part of the Srishti Housing Complex in Sector-II of Mira Road. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you’re coming from Mumbai, but for us, it’s just the usual commute in the Thane district. Interactive Media & Communication Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a long name for what we do, which is mostly just sitting at computers and working on media stuff. The housing complex is actually quite nice, and it’s a bit quieter than being right on the main road. We’ve set up our workspace to be as functional as possible. There are wires everywhere and a few stacks of old hard drives that we really should clear out one day. We don’t have a fancy lobby or any of that corporate stuff. It’s just a few rooms where we get things done. Most of us live nearby, so we often walk to work or take a rickshaw. The weather in Maharashtra can be pretty humid, so we keep the windows shut and the fans on high. We deal with a lot of digital communication, but our physical office is very much a local, lived-in space. Sometimes we lose track of time when we’re working on a project, and suddenly it’s dark outside. We don’t have a lot of visitors, but when we do, we usually just offer them a glass of water and a plastic chair. It’s a straightforward operation here.
