Instacream

Our little ice cream place, Instacream, is situated in Andheri West, specifically in the Lokhandwala area. We are located near Jogas Park, which is a nice spot where people go to walk or take their kids in the evening. Because of the park, we see a lot of families coming by after they are done with their strolls. Lokhandwala is a pretty lively neighborhood with lots of shops and people always walking around. We started this because we wanted to have a simple shop in this part of town. The interior isn't very fancy, but we keep it clean and the freezers are always working hard. Dealing with the heat in Mumbai means we have to be careful with the electricity and making sure nothing melts. Some days are very busy, especially on the weekends when everyone is out and about. Other days, when it’s raining hard during the monsoon, it can be quite slow and we just sit and wait for the weather to clear up. We make the ice cream right here and try out different things when we feel like it. It’s just a few of us working here, and we handle everything from the cleaning to serving the customers. We’ve gotten to know the regular park-goers pretty well over time. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even if it gets a bit hectic sometimes. We just focus on keeping the flavors simple and the cream cold.
