We are located at Plot No 19 on the ground floor in Kandivali West. It is right in the Timaliyawad area, which is usually quite crowded with people and traffic. If you are coming from Parekh Lane, we are right opposite that. Being on the ground floor is handy because we don't have to deal with elevators or stairs when we are carrying heavy files or maps around. The office is called Bala, and it’s a fairly simple setup with basic furniture. We deal with a lot of infrastructure projects related to tourism, which basically means a lot of paperwork and looking at site plans. The walls are covered with some old maps and a few calendars. It gets a bit dusty because of the road traffic outside, but we keep the fans going to stay cool during the day. There is a small tea shop nearby where we get our morning chai. Most of our work involves coordinating between different departments and making sure the plans for new sites are moving along. It is not the most exciting work every single day, but it feels good to see things actually getting built later on. We have a few big tables where we spread out the blueprints to look at them properly. Sometimes local contractors drop by to discuss things, and it gets a bit loud in the small room. We’ve been in this spot for several years, so the neighbors all know us by now. It’s a practical space.
