Imtiyaz Packaging

Our shop is number 49 over in Hira Kumbhar Chawl on Bull Temple Road. It’s in Kurla West, which is always crowded and full of life. We do packaging work, mostly making boxes and wrapping things up for transport. It’s a lot of cardboard, tape, and paper everywhere. The space isn't huge, so we have to be very organized to make sure we have room to move. Sometimes the stacks of boxes get so high they almost touch the ceiling. I started this with a friend because we saw how much stuff was being moved around Kurla. It’s a noisy neighborhood, especially with the temple nearby and the daily markets. We use some old cutting machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done. Our hands get dry from handling all that paper and glue, but we don't mind. We aren't a big factory with hundreds of workers. It's just a few of us making sure things are packed securely so they don't break. People from the chawl often stop by to chat or see what we’re up to. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just walk in or call us when they need a batch of containers. It's simple work, but it keeps the neighborhood moving. We try to be helpful whenever someone shows up with a weird-shaped item that needs a box. We just keep our heads down and pack until the day is done.
