Hotel -The Retreat

Hotel -The Retreat is tucked away in Aksa Village. We are located near Aksa Beach in Malad West. It's a bit of a different vibe from the rest of Mumbai. You have to go past the main city roads to find us. We are staying at Mrs. Mathre’s place here. The air is a bit saltier because of the sea. It’s a local spot where people come to get away for a bit. We don't have the big luxury feel of those massive hotels in the city. It’s more of a home-style setup. Aksa Beach is right there, so you can hear the waves if it’s quiet enough. The village area is small and everyone knows each other. We handle the daily tasks of running the place without much fuss. There are no big brochures or fancy uniforms here. Just some rooms and a place to sit. Sometimes the road to the village gets a bit muddy during the monsoon. We just deal with it. It is a very simple operation. People who come here usually know what to expect. It's quiet, which is rare for Mumbai. We spend our time making sure things are in order. Mrs. Mathre is often around too. It's not a corporate business, just a local stay. We like being by the beach. It makes the work feel a bit less like work. Most days are just peaceful and slow-moving. We often sit on the porch during sunset once the guests are settled.
