Hindustan Tools & Engineering Co. is located in the middle of Lohar Chawl. Our address is 9, Ratansi Champsi Path, and we use P.B. No. 2311 for our mail. If you’ve ever been to Lohar Chawl, you know it’s one of the most crowded and hectic places you can find. There are people carrying heavy loads, scooters weaving through the lanes, and the constant clank of metal. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age. The walls are thick, and the shelves are stacked high with all sorts of tools and engineering parts. It’s a bit dark inside, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. We don't really have a lobby or a waiting area. People just come to the counter and tell us what they need. We spend our days looking through catalogs or checking the stock in the back room. It’s noisy and sometimes a bit overwhelming for people who aren't used to the market, but we find it comfortable. We take our lunch at the same time every day, usually eating right there at the desk. There isn't much space for anything else. We focus on the tools and making sure the orders go out to whoever needs them. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know.
