Hemlaxmi General Stores

Hemlaxmi General Stores is a small place in Mulund East, right on 1st Street near the Jumma Masjid Road Cross 2. It is a local corner shop through and through. We have everything from snacks to basic household stuff packed onto the shelves. It can be a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles when we are busy, but that is just how it is. I have been running this shop for years, and I have seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own families now. It is a friendly part of Mulund. We know most people’s names and how they like their tea. The shop stays open pretty late most nights because there is always someone who forgot to buy milk or needs a quick snack. We are right near the Masjid, so it gets particularly busy at certain times of the day. The shelves are always a bit messy no matter how many times I try to organize them. I guess that is just what happens when people are always picking things up and putting them back. We don't have any fancy signs or big ads. People just know we are here and that we usually have what they need. It is a simple business, but it serves the community and that is enough for me. Most days I am just behind the counter chatting with whoever walks in.
