Our travel office is located on the first floor of Tauhid Mansion in Masjid Bunder West. We are on Kiadb Road, which is very close to Zakaria Mazjid. It is a very crowded area, so there is always a lot of noise from the street coming up through the windows. We have been operating from this small space for a few years now. Most of our work involves booking flights and helping people with their travel documents. It is just a few of us sitting at our computers most of the day. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow and steep. We have a lot of maps and old calendars on the walls. People from the neighborhood come in to ask about train schedules or visa requirements. We do not really have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We drink a lot of chai while we wait for the booking systems to load. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to sit and wait. It is part of life here. We try to find the cheapest options for folks because we know how hard they work for their money. It is not a glamorous job, but it feels good when someone comes back and says they had a good trip. We just take things one booking at a time and try to get the names spelled right on the tickets. It keeps us busy enough.
