You can find us on A G Link Road in Sakinaka, right across from the Madina Hotel. It’s a noisy part of town, that’s for sure. The sound of the traffic outside never really stops, and the smell of the food from the hotel across the street often drifts into our workshop around lunchtime. Hama Engineering is basically a small group of us who know our way around a machine shop. The space is a bit cramped because we’ve squeezed in as much equipment as we can over the years. We’ve got stacks of materials tucked into the corners and half-finished jobs sitting on the benches. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. Most of our days are spent dealing with local repairs or small-scale manufacturing. We don’t have a receptionist or anything. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to the desk picks it up, usually with greasy hands. We like being in Sakinaka because everything we need is close by, even if the roads are always dug up for some project or another. It’s a gritty, busy environment, but it suits us just fine. We don't spend money on fancy signs or shiny floors. We’d rather spend it on keeping our lathes and mills in good running order. People know us in the neighborhood, and that’s how we like to keep things—simple and local.
