Haji Gani

Haji Gani is our little shop over in Kalbadevi. Specifically, we are at Shop No 24 on the 5th Main Road in the Trinity Co Operati building. If you have ever been to Kalbadevi, you know how narrow the streets are and how many people are always walking around. It can be quite a struggle just to get a handcart through the lane sometimes. We spend our whole day here, surrounded by boxes and other shops. It is a very old part of town, so the buildings have a lot of character, even if they need a bit of paint. We have been here for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the 5th Main Road. We do not really do any big advertisements or anything like that. People just find us or they have been coming here for years because their fathers came here. The shop is small, but we use every inch of space we have. From the morning prayers until we close at night, there is always something to move or organize. It gets a bit stuffy in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We just take things one day at a time and try to stay busy. It is a simple life in a very crowded part of the city, but it works for us. We are just regular people doing business.
