We are based out of a flat in the Vainganga building, which is part of the Worli Sagar society. It’s on Pockhanwala Road, so we get a bit of that sea air even if we are mostly stuck looking at our computer screens all day. Flat 701 isn’t your typical corporate headquarters, but for a buildcon firm like ours, it serves the purpose just fine. Most of our mornings are spent coordinating with contractors or checking on building supplies. Since we are in a residential society, it’s much quieter than being on the main Worli roads. We’ve lived and worked in this part of Mumbai for a long time, so we know the shortcuts and the best places to grab a quick Vada Pav. The office is a bit cluttered with blueprints and samples of building materials. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to polish up how we look. We just focus on the projects we have in front of us. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, and we have to walk up, but that’s just life in an older Mumbai building. It feels more like a home than a workplace sometimes, which we actually prefer. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big lobby; we just want to make sure our construction projects are moving along as they should be. It is just a group of us trying to make things work in this busy city.
