Our place is right on Mathuradas Vasanji Road. It's usually pretty busy outside with all the traffic. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place cool because of the Kurla heat. There's a particular sound the gelato machines make that you just get used to after a while. Sometimes the power flutters and we have to check the backup right away. We spend our mornings looking at the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved around. It isn't a huge place, just 326 in B block over in Kurla West, but it keeps us busy. Most days involve a lot of mopping because people bring in dust from the street. We usually have the radio playing in the back, though nobody really listens to it. It’s mostly just us three working here, making sure the tubs are full and the lids are on tight. The neighbors stop by just to say hello sometimes while they’re out on their errands. It gets pretty bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the front glass. We’ve got some old chairs that we keep in the corner for when we get a minute to sit down. Most of the time we’re just standing by the counter or checking the freezer temperatures. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here, nothing too fancy, but we manage to get through the daily tasks and keep the machines running without too much trouble.
