Southern Foods N Spices Pvt. Ltd. is just us working out of Shop No. 3 on Sonwala Road. If you know the Goregaon Estate area, you know it gets pretty busy with all the trucks and people moving around all day. We spend most of our time dealing with bags of different spices and food items that come in and go out. It gets a bit dusty sometimes because of the grinding and packing, but that is just how it is in this line of work. My hands usually smell like turmeric or coriander by the time I head home in the evening. We aren't a big fancy setup with glass walls or anything like that. It is a practical space where we get the job done. Some days the delivery vans block the whole lane and we have to shout a bit to get things moving. The shop has been here for a while now and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the estate. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the bags are sealed properly so nothing spills. It is noisy and a bit chaotic on Mondays when everyone is trying to start their week. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes the light in the back flickers but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just a normal workplace.
