Gokul Ice Creams

We are located in Ajay Apartments, right on Saraswati Road in Santacruz West. It’s a busy little corner, especially with Podar School so close by. At Gokul Ice Creams, our day is pretty much timed by the school bell. When the kids come out, the shop at 71-C gets crowded really fast. It’s a lot of noise and kids trying to decide what they want while their parents are waiting outside. The rest of the day is a bit slower, which gives us time to clean up the sticky counters and restock the cabinets for the next rush. Being in a residential building means we have to be mindful of the neighbors and keep the noise down at night. We’ve known some of the people in the apartments for years now. It feels like a neighborhood spot because that’s exactly what it is. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us scooping ice cream and making sure the freezers stay at the right temperature so nothing melts. Sometimes the traffic on Saraswati Road gets backed up and it’s a bit chaotic outside our window, but inside it’s usually okay. We keep things simple here. There’s no need for anything fancy when people just want a cold treat on a hot afternoon. We’ve got our routine down now. We open up, get everything ready, and wait for the afternoon rush to start. It’s a nice way to spend the day.
