Gigani Masala Mills

If you go down to Dongri, you will find Gigani Masala Mills at Plot No. 143 on Nishanpada Road. We are also quite close to Sant Tukaram Road. This part of the city is always crowded and there is a lot of energy in the streets. Our mill has been here for quite some time now. The building is an older one, but it works for what we need. Inside, it is usually quite loud because the mills are running for most of the day. We have bags of different spices stacked up to the ceiling in some parts of the warehouse. It is a dusty job, and we all wear aprons to keep our clothes from getting stained by the powders. The smell of roasted chilies and coriander is very strong inside. We don't have much of an office, just a small corner with a table where we keep the ledger and handle the money. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and making sure the powder is fine enough. It is a lot of heavy lifting, moving sacks from the trucks into the mill and then back out again once they are filled with masala. We know the other shopkeepers on Nishanpada Road well. We all just try to get through the workday. It isn't glamorous work, but it is what we know how to do.
