We are up on the third floor of the Sahakar building in Andheri West. It is one of those places where you have to know where you are going or you might miss the turn. Most days start early here because people need cars for all sorts of reasons. Some are heading out of the city and others just need to get across town without dealing with the trains. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the keys. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons but we have a decent breeze if the windows are open. The building itself has seen better days but it is sturdy and central for everyone around here. We have been in this flat for a while now and the neighbors are mostly quiet offices. We keep things simple. You come in, we sort out the paperwork, and you get on your way. There is no big lobby or fancy coffee machine, just a desk and some chairs. Sometimes the elevator is slow so we take the stairs. It keeps us moving. Andheri is always noisy with traffic but up here on the third floor it feels a bit tucked away. We handle the cars and the customers one by one. It is just a regular day-to-day operation where we try to keep the cars running and the schedules on time. Nothing fancy about it.
