Our little office is right on S V Road in Kandivali West, directly opposite the fire brigade station. We are in Kamla Bhavan, at number 2. It is a busy spot, and you can always hear the sirens or the traffic passing by throughout the day. General Travels India has been operating out of this room for a while now. It is a practical space, filled with old maps, travel guides, and a lot of filing cabinets. We do not really do the whole modern minimalist look; it is more about having everything we need within arm's reach. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and checking schedules for trains or planes. We get a mix of people coming in—some are looking for a quick ticket to the next city, while others want to plan a long vacation for their family. We just sit down with them and see what the computer says. There is no big sales pitch here. We just give people the facts and the prices we find. Sometimes the office gets a bit cramped when a few customers come in at once, but we make do with the space we have. It feels like a real neighborhood business. We have seen the shops around us change, but we just keep doing what we do. It is a steady pace of work, helping people get where they need to go without making a big production out of it. We just keep the lights on and the records updated.
