Gawde Tour & Travels

You can find us over in Dahisar East, right at the 1st Cross on Market Road. Our little spot is in Rajaram Mhatre Chawl, which is a very local part of Kaveripura. It’s always lively around here because of the market being so close. There is always someone walking by or a truck unloading something nearby. Gawde Tour & Travels has been operating out of this chawl for a while. It’s not a big glass office, it’s just a simple room where we keep track of the buses and the bookings. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the street noise, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We have maps and schedules tacked up on the walls so we don't lose track of where everyone is supposed to be. The neighbors are all people who have lived here for years, so everyone knows everyone else’s business. It makes the workday go by faster when you can chat with the person next door during a tea break. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing down notes on pads. The floor is just simple tiles and the chairs have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough for a long shift. We just focus on getting people where they need to go. It is an honest day’s work in a neighborhood that never really stays quiet for long. The fan hums all day and we just keep the door open for the breeze.
