Gaurishankar Pattern & Engg. Works

We’re located over in Santacruz East, right near the Vakola Bridge. If you can find Lav-Kush Society, we are up in room 501. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, there is always something going on downstairs. Gaurishankar Pattern & Engg. Works is a bit of a mouthful for a name, but we just call it the shop when we're talking to each other. Saket S. Pendurkar is usually around the place if you need to talk to someone about a specific job. We do a lot of technical work here. It’s not always clean or pretty to look at. There are tools and patterns scattered about on almost every surface in the room. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the engineering is exactly right before we finish anything up. Being near the bridge means it’s never really quiet, but you get used to the hum of the city after a while. We aren't a big factory with hundreds of workers. It’s more of a personal setup where we do everything ourselves. We know most of the people who come to us by their first names. Sometimes we stay late into the night to finish a job because that’s just what’s needed to get it done on time. We don't have any fancy mission statements hanging on the wall. We just try to make things that fit and work like they should. It’s a small place, but we do a lot of good work.
