Garden Collection

Garden Collection is situated at 11, right across from Sainath Electric in the Panjara Pole area of Lohar Chawl. If you know Lohar Chawl, you know it’s a place where you can find almost anything if you look hard enough. It’s a huge maze of shops and narrow lanes that all look the same. Our shop is one of those places tucked away in the mix. It’s not very big inside, but we have managed to cram a lot of stuff into it over the years. We deal with plants and all kinds of things for people's gardens. It’s a bit of a funny place for a garden shop, being in such a crowded and industrial area, but people still want a bit of green in their homes. We get a lot of dust blowing in from the street, so we have to wipe things down constantly to keep them clean. The noise from the electric shop across the way is something we’ve just gotten used to. We don't have any professional designers or big marketing budgets. It's just us, moving heavy pots and bags of soil around all day. Sometimes we get a bit messy, and there’s usually some dirt on the floor no matter how much we sweep. It’s a practical business for practical people. We talk to the locals and the people who work in the other shops nearby every day. We’ve been at this for a while and we don’t really plan on changing much. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in. It’s a simple life in a very busy part of the city.
