Galaxy Engineering Works

Galaxy Engineering Works is situated at 84/A, Squatter Colony, near the Chincholi Gate in Malad East. Malad is a crowded place, and our corner of the Squatter Colony is no different. We operate out of a small space where every inch is used for something, whether it’s a machine or a pile of raw materials. It’s noisy and there’s always something going on outside our door. We do general engineering work, taking on whatever small jobs the local community or nearby businesses need. We don't have a professional marketing team or even a proper sign sometimes, but people find us anyway. Usually, someone just walks in with a broken piece of machinery and asks if we can fix it. We don't use corporate talk or try to impress anyone with big words. We just tell them if we can do it or not. We work with our hands and we are usually covered in some kind of dust or oil by the time lunch rolls around. It’s a tough environment sometimes, especially when it rains and the streets get muddy, but we keep the machines running. We’ve been part of the Chincholi Gate area for a while and we know the rhythms of the neighborhood. We just want to do our work, get paid, and come back tomorrow to do it again. It's not a fancy life but it's ours.
