G Mart

We are based over at Plot No. 8 in the Manika building. If you know the Mahakali Caves area in Andheri East, you know it gets pretty crowded around here during the rush hours. Our spot is right on Yari Road, not too far from Manish Park. We spend most of our mornings just getting things organized and making sure the shop looks decent before the first people start walking in from Inlaks Nagar. It is usually quite humid in this part of Mumbai, so the fans are always going full blast from the moment we open the shutters. We have been in this neighborhood for a while now. Most days are just about keeping the shelves filled and handling the deliveries that come through the narrow lanes. Sometimes the trucks get stuck near the caves, and we have to go out and help them navigate. It is a lot of routine work, really. We see a lot of the same faces every day, mostly folks living in the nearby apartments who just need a few things on their way home. The light in the shop gets a bit dim in the afternoons, but we prefer it that way because it keeps the heat down. We don't really do much besides focus on the daily tasks at hand and making sure we have what people are looking for when they stop by. We aren't a big supermarket, just a local mart where the floor might be a bit scuffed from the foot traffic.
