G. K. Hydraulic & Engg. Works

The workshop at 21/4, G.K. Estate, Mathura Road is where you will find us most of the time. G. K. Hydraulic & Engg. Works is a place that smells like machine oil and metal. It is located right off Mathura Road, so the sound of trucks passing by is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We spend our days working on hydraulic systems and various engineering parts. Most of the guys here have grease on their hands by ten in the morning. It is not a clean job, but it is what we know how to do. The estate itself is a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with it. We have a lot of heavy machinery sitting on the floor and some of it has been with us since we started. Sometimes the parts we need take a while to arrive, which can be frustrating. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just fix things and make sure the machines are running like they should. If someone comes in with a broken pump or a cylinder, we take a look and see if it can be salvaged. The office part of the building is just a small corner with a couple of chairs. It is mostly about the work on the floor. We stay until the job is done.
