Kalpataru Enterprises

Being located on Mody Street in Fort means we are right in the middle of all that old Mumbai energy. Kalpataru Enterprises is on the first floor of Meghdoot Chambers, which is one of those buildings with high ceilings and a lot of character. You have to walk up the stairs since it's just the first floor, and you can hear the street noise coming through the windows all day. It’s mostly the sound of taxis honking and people rushing to the station. Inside, we have our desks set up in a way that worked years ago and we just haven't changed it. There’s a lot of paper around, folders stacked up, and the smell of old files. We do our daily business here, mostly dealing with the various things that come across our desks. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers add up. We don't really do much to decorate the place; the calendar on the wall is usually the only thing that gets updated. During the monsoon, the walls get a bit damp, but we just carry on. Lunch is a big deal here, we all sit together and share whatever we’ve brought. The afternoon can get a bit slow when it’s humid, but there’s always something that needs filing or a call that needs to be made. We like the area because everything is close by, even if it is a bit crowded. It is just an ordinary office doing regular work.
