Fine Traders

You can find Fine Traders tucked away near the Mumbai Hotel in the Vaishali Industrial area. It’s down in Mahatre Wadi, which is a part of Nagpada that’s always got something going on. Our place is at number seven. It’s an industrial spot, so there are always tempos and trucks moving around in the narrow lanes. We deal in a lot of different items, mostly trading things back and forth between suppliers and other shops. The air around here smells like old buildings and sometimes a bit of cooking from the nearby hotel. Inside, the floors are concrete and we’ve got metal shelves stacked high with whatever we’re moving that week. It’s a bit dusty, honestly, no matter how much we sweep. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big reception desk. Usually, you’ll just find one of us sitting on a stool checking the inventory lists against the delivery notes. We’ve been operating out of Nagpada because it’s central for our deliveries across the city. The neighborhood is tight, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. We keep to ourselves mostly, focusing on the crates and boxes that need to be shifted. Some days are slow, while others have us running around until our legs ache. It’s just honest work in a busy part of the city. We don't put on any acts. We just open the shutters, do the work, and close up when the day is finished. It’s been our routine for years.
