Fazal Paint Shop

Fazal Paint Shop is a small place in Kurla West. We are at Shop No 3 in the Laxmi Bai Chawl, near Three Gate. If you are taking the bus, we are right by the Sheetal Bus Stop, which makes it easy for people to find us. The shop is pretty small and smells like paint and thinners all the time. We have stacks of cans everywhere, from floor to ceiling. It is just a local business we’ve been running for a while. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop front. People from the chawls and the nearby buildings come in when they need to freshen up their walls. We spend a lot of time mixing colors and trying to match samples that people bring in on bits of paper. Our hands are usually stained with different colors by the end of the day. It is not a fancy showroom. We have a few old wooden stools for people to sit on while we mix their paint. The area around Sheetal bus stop is always busy, so there is a lot of dust and noise, but we are used to it. We just focus on getting the right shade for whoever walks in. It’s a simple trade. My family has been doing this sort of work for years. We know which paints work best for the damp walls we get during the monsoon around here. Just an honest shop in Kurla.
