Famous Chocolates

You can find Famous Chocolates up on the 4th floor of the Polytechnic building on Sandhut Road. We’re in Room No 405. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift isn't working, but we’re usually there working anyway. It’s not a shop in the traditional sense; it’s more like a workshop where we make everything. The room is always filled with the smell of cocoa and sugar, which is nice, but it gets quite sticky during the monsoon. We use small molds and do everything by hand, so no two pieces look exactly the same. We started out just making treats for neighbors, and then it turned into this. We spend most of our time wrapping boxes and checking the temperature of the chocolate so it doesn't melt. It’s a small operation, just a few of us sitting around a big table. We don't have a big glass display case or a fancy storefront. Most people hear about us through word of mouth or come by to pick up orders they placed earlier. Sometimes the building gets a bit quiet in the evenings, but we stay late to finish the batches. We don't have any big machines doing the work for us. It’s just spoons, bowls, and a lot of patience. If you're coming to visit, just head up to the fourth floor and look for the door marked Buildi. We’re always inside working on something.
