Excel Preparing

Our place is at 2/5, Sayyed Asgarali Chawl, which is in the Meghwadi area of Jogeshwari East in Mumbai. If you know Mumbai, you know that spaces like this are where the real city lives and works. It’s a chawl, so it’s tight and the walls are close, but it’s full of life. We do our preparing work here in room 2/5. It’s not a corporate office with a view of the skyline; our view is just the alleyway and the neighbors going about their day. It’s noisy, it’s humid during the monsoon, and there is always someone talking nearby. But we like it because it’s real. We have our equipment squeezed in, and we’ve figured out exactly how to move around without bumping into each other. The 400060 area is busy from sunrise to way past sunset. We don’t have a website with fancy graphics or a marketing person. We just have our hands and our tools and the work we do every day. People around here know us, and we know them. It’s a community. Sometimes we have to move stuff out to the corridor just to make space for a big job, and everyone is okay with that. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours, and it gets the job done without any fuss or extra polish.
