E I In Pawan Hans Helicopters is located right here in Mumbai. We don't really have a standard street address listed for this particular unit, just the general city location near the aviation hubs. Most of our work happens near the airfields where the helicopters are kept. It’s a noisy place to be, with the sound of rotors and engines starting up at all hours. We spend a lot of time on the tarmac or in the hangars. The office we use is pretty basic, just some metal desks and chairs where we keep all the technical manuals and flight logs. There is a lot of grease and oil around, so you can't really wear nice clothes without getting them dirty. We deal with a lot of pilots and engineers who are always in a hurry. It’s a different kind of job than working in a bank or a store. You have to be careful about everything. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp during the long shifts. Sometimes we just sit outside and watch the choppers take off and land. It is a very practical, hands-on environment. There isn't any corporate fluff here, just people who know their way around an engine and a flight schedule. We just keep the birds in the air and the paperwork in order. It's a lot of work but someone has to do it.
