Duplex Engineering Works

You can find us over at No. 224 in the Acharya Commercial Centre in Chembur. It is a bit different being in a commercial centre rather than a big open industrial plot, but Duplex Engineering Works fits in just fine. The space is a bit tighter than some of the old sheds, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our materials and where we put the finished parts. Chembur is always bustling, and the noise from the street usually drifts up into our unit. We have a small crew of dedicated workers who know the machines inside and out. We spend a lot of our time looking at blueprints and making sure every cut is where it should be. The lighting isn't the best, so we have extra lamps clamped onto the benches. It gets pretty cramped when a big shipment of iron comes in, but we manage to move things around. We don't have a fancy lobby for visitors. If you come by, you'll probably find us mid-job with a caliper in hand. We try to keep the coffee pot full because the afternoons can get long. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just the one that does what it says it will. Most of our day is just the hum of the motors and the sound of metal hitting metal. It is simple work but it keeps us busy.
