Door Step School

We are up on the second floor of the Jagannath Shankarsheth Municipal School building. It’s room 54 and 55. If you know Nana Chowk, we are right there near Grant Road. The hallway gets a bit noisy when kids are moving around. We spend our days here in these two rooms. It's not a huge space but we make it work. Sometimes the elevator isn't the fastest so people just take the stairs. Being in this part of town means there is always traffic and noise outside. We've been at this address for a while now. The school building itself has a lot of history. You can see the busy streets from the windows. We keep our supplies tucked away in the corners of Room 54. Room 55 is where most of the activities happen. It gets warm in the afternoons but we have the fans going. People come and go throughout the day. We try to keep things organized but with so much going on, it’s a bit of a challenge. Door Step School is what everyone calls us. We just focus on what needs doing each morning. There’s a certain routine to being in a municipal building. You get to know the other people working on the different floors. It’s a busy spot in Mumbai. There is a tea stall right around the corner where the staff usually goes. We don't have much in the way of fancy stuff, just what we need to get the job done. It's a real place.
