Our workshop is tucked away in F-123 at the Ansa Industrial Estate. If you know Saki Vihar Road in Andheri East, you know how crowded it gets around here. The estate is full of different businesses, but we have been in this spot for a long time. We focus on press tools and metal work. The space is filled with heavy machinery and the smell of cutting oil. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months in Mumbai. We have a small crew of guys who really know their way around a press. It’s not a quiet job, and the clanging of metal is something we’ve all grown used to. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings and making sure the tools are shaped right. We don't do much in terms of marketing because we are usually too busy with the work on the floor. The entrance to the industrial estate can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't looking closely, but once you are inside, it’s a world of its own. We deal with various manufacturers who need specific parts made. Sometimes the machines act up or a tool breaks, and we have to spend the whole night fixing it. That’s just part of the trade. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just a reliable shop in Andheri where the work gets done.
