We have a small workshop over in Vikhroli East on Ram Hazare Marg. It is Shop No. 10, and we are right near the Maharashtra Bakery. You can usually smell the fresh bread when we are working at our machines here at Diamond Bags Makers. We spend most of our time making different types of bags for people in the area. The shop is not very big, so we have to stack the finished bags in the corners until they are picked up. The street outside is always full of people heading toward the station. We have been in this spot for several years and the walls are looking a bit old now. We don't have any comfortable chairs, just the wooden stools we sit on to sew. Sometimes my son comes in after his school is over to help us with the packing and moving boxes. We work with heavy fabrics that can be quite tough on the hands. By the time we close up, we are usually very tired. We don't do any advertising at all. Most people just see the bags through the open door and come in to ask about prices. It is a bit of a dusty place because of all the fabric lint, but that is part of the job. We try to finish every order on time, even if it means staying late into the night. The bakery is the best landmark if you are trying to find us.
