Sachin Leather Works

We are based over at Shop Number 8 in the A-Wing of Kalpataru C.H.S. right on the Sion-Bandra Link Road. Being in Dharavi, there’s always a lot of movement and noise around the shop. We work with leather, mostly fixing things up or making small items as requested by people who stop in. It is a small shop, but it fits everything we need for our daily work. The Link Road is usually loud with traffic, so we’ve gotten used to the sound of horns over the years. We aren't trying to be some big factory or a fancy brand. It’s just a local spot where we get our hands dirty every day. Most of our customers are locals or people passing through between Sion and Bandra. We keep a lot of scraps and tools around, so the place looks a bit cluttered, but we know where every single tool is kept. Some days are slower than others, but there is always a bag to mend or a belt to finish for someone. I’ve been working with leather for a long time now, and it’s just what I know how to do. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just open the shutter in the morning and wait for whoever comes by. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it works for us.
