Modak Leather

Our shop is number 21, right next to Naseema Stores. If you know where the Shamiyana Hotel is on 90 Feet Road, you can see us right across from it. It is a lively part of Sion Dharavi, always full of noise and people moving about. At Modak Leather, the smell of the hides is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We have rolls of material leaning in the corners and tools scattered across the workbenches. It isn't a silent place. There is always the sound of cutting or someone talking loudly over the traffic outside. We have been in this spot for a long time. The floor is a bit uneven and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We spend our days measuring and checking the quality of what we have. Customers pop in and out, often asking for directions or just saying hello. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on being here every day and doing the work. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always wiping things down. It is a busy life on 90 Feet Road. We take things as they come and don't worry too much about being fancy. As long as the work is done right, that is what matters to us. It is just a simple shop in a very busy neighborhood.
