Ashwini Leather Art

We have been here at Shop No. 05 in the BMC Chawl for a good amount of time now. Most people know the area as Kahdev Nagar on the 90 Feet Road in Dharavi. It is a busy place, and there is always something going on outside our door. We mostly focus on leather work. It is what we do every day. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the shop where we get things done. People come by when they need something specific made or fixed. We use our hands mostly. Some days are busier than others, especially when the weather is hot, but we keep at it. The street is always loud with traffic and people walking by. If you are looking for us, we are right there in the row of shops. We have been doing this for years, so we know the material pretty well. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered with scraps and tools lying around. We don't bother with fancy ads or anything. Most folks find us by just walking past or hearing about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s just how things work around here. We open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished for the day. Sometimes that's early, sometimes it's late. We just try to do honest work with the leather we get and keep the shop running.
