Archana Leather Art

Archana Leather Art is based in Dharavi, specifically in the Indira Quereshi Nagar area. You can find us at Room No. A/344 inside the Laxmi Narayan Co-Operative Housing Society. It is a very busy part of the city, as you can probably imagine. We do leather work here. It is what we have been doing for a long time. The housing society is big, but most people around here can point you to our door. We spend most of our hours cutting, stitching, and finishing different leather pieces. It is a lot of handwork and takes a bit of patience. Our room is often filled with the smell of leather and the sound of our tools hitting the bench. We do not have a big showroom with lights. It is just a workshop where we get the items ready for whoever needs them. Some days are very long when we have a lot of pieces to finish by a deadline. Dharavi has so many people doing similar things, so we just focus on our own work and keep our heads down. We do not really do the whole marketing thing. Most of our work comes from people who have heard about us through word of mouth. It is a tight space in the society building, but we make it work. We keep our tools sharp and our materials stacked in the corners. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
