Devki Luggage Centre

You can find us at T-120/6, tucked away behind the Old Police Station in Chembur East. That is where Devki Luggage Centre is. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but most people who live around Chembur know the spot. The shop is filled with all kinds of luggage. We have those hard-shell suitcases and the soft cloth bags that you can stuff too much into. The shelves are a bit old and they creak sometimes when we pull down a heavy box. It is a quiet street usually, except for the occasional police jeep or people walking to the station. We spend our days talking to people about their travel plans, even if it is just a short bus ride. We see a lot of bags that have seen better days. The stitching comes apart or the handles snap off. We take a look and see what we can do. It is just me and a couple of others here. We have a small desk where we keep the accounts and a few tools for the quick repairs. The lighting isn't the best in the back, but we know where everything is. It's a simple life running a shop like this in Chembur East. We don't need much else, just enough space for the bags and a stool to sit on. Sometimes we have a cup of tea and just wait for the next customer to walk through the door.
