Our shop is located at 3, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Sadan, right on S B Pawar Road in Currey Road (W). It’s an old-school kind of engineering place where there is always the smell of metal and oil in the air. We have been here for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us, but we just keep doing what we do. Engineering isn't always clean work, and our hands usually show it by the end of the shift. We aren't some massive corporation with hundreds of offices; we are just here at this one spot, making sure the projects get finished. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole night fixing it, but that is just part of the deal. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see someone in overalls working on a drawing or a part. It gets pretty hot in the summers, but we have some fans going and we get through it. The stairwell in the Sadan building is a bit narrow, so moving bigger parts in and out can be a real struggle sometimes. We often have to get creative with how we shift things around. Outside, the street is always buzzing with people and the smell of local food stalls, which is nice when we finally take a break for lunch. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. It is a bit cramped in the office sometimes because of all the manuals and spare parts.
