Dev Optics is located over at Gamadia Comp on Kelkar Road, number 5. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with glass cases and little drawers for frames. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is probably the smell of cleaning fluid and maybe a bit of dust in the corners where the broom doesn't reach. I spend most of my day looking through small lenses or adjusting the nose pads on someone's glasses. It’s quiet work for the most part, though Kelkar Road can get quite noisy during the rush hour. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it’s enough to see the tiny screws we work with. I don't use any fancy computer systems to track everything; I have a ledger where I write down what people need. Sometimes the frames get mixed up, and I have to spend an hour sorting them back by size. It’s just me and the glasses most days. People come in with broken hinges or scratched lenses, and I see what can be done. It isn't a big chain store with bright neon lights. It’s just a local spot in the Gamadia Comp where we sit and work. I usually keep a small radio playing in the background just to have some company while I’m grinding lenses or cleaning the display cases. It's a steady pace, and we just handle whoever walks through the door.
