D V Engineering Works

Our workshop is tucked away on the first floor of the Botawala Building, right over at Horniman Circle. It’s an old building, number 11/13, with a lot of history in the walls. We do engineering work here, which mostly means a lot of grease, metal shavings, and heavy machinery. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit or fancy shoes. We’ve been at this spot for many years, and the floor is a bit uneven, but we know exactly where every tool is kept. We handle repairs and custom jobs for all sorts of mechanical parts. Sometimes it’s a small piece for a local machine, and other times it’s something much larger that takes a few of us to move. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure to show people. If you want to know what we do, you usually just have to come up the stairs and see for yourself. There’s always a project on the workbench and the smell of oil in the air. We’re just a group of guys who like working with our hands and fixing things that are broken. It’s a bit loud and messy during the day, but it’s how we make our living. We don't try to be anything we're not. We just do the engineering work that needs doing, chat with the regulars, and try to get the jobs finished on time. It’s a solid way to spend the day.
