Crystal Tours & Travels is right near Mumbai Central Ho, at 11-A. Because we are so close to the main station, there is always a sense of urgency in the air. People are always in a rush to get somewhere, and that reflects in the kind of work I do every day. The office is a small, functional space that stays quite dusty because of all the construction and traffic nearby. I have a couple of desks and a lot of box files that I really need to organize better. Most of my work involves helping people who are passing through or who live in the crowded colonies around the station. It is a noisy place to work, with the sound of trains and whistles constant in the background, but you stop noticing it after the first week. I don't do anything special here; I just help folks book their tickets and figure out their travel dates. Sometimes a customer will come in frustrated because their plans changed at the last minute, and I have to see what I can fix. It’s a lot of pressure when things are tight, but I do my best to stay calm. I keep a bottle of water and some biscuits in my drawer for when the day gets too long. It is just a straightforward travel shop in one of the busiest parts of the city, and we keep things moving as best as we can.
