About Creative Academic Art Classes – Art & Craft in Mumbai
Creative Academic Art Classes is tucked away on the 13th floor of the Yash building. Our room number is 1302 and we are right in the Mahim area. Being up that high means we get a decent breeze when the windows are open, which helps when the paint smells get a bit strong. The room is always full of jars of water, half-used pencils, and stacks of paper. We don't have fancy easels for everyone, so some students just work on the flat tables. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the afternoon classes are full, but we make it work. The elevators in the building can be a bit slow sometimes, so you have to be patient if you’re coming up. We have student work taped to the walls everywhere because there isn't enough shelf space to store everything. It’s not a sterile gallery or anything like that; it’s a place where things get messy and charcoal gets on everyone's hands. We mostly teach the basics and help people get better at drawing what they see. The light in the room is pretty good in the mornings, which is when we like to get our own work done. It’s just a small art space in a tall building in Mahim. We like the view and the quiet atmosphere way up here. There isn't any fancy lobby, just a door with our name on it and a lot of creativity inside.
