Our little spot is located over at Grant Road, right in the middle of the Lohar Chawl area on Carmichael Road. It is a very crowded part of town, so there is always noise from the street coming through the front door. We have a small counter where we handle all the cocoa products, and it can get a bit cramped when more than two staff members are working at the same time. The shelves are filled with different powders and bars that we have to reorganize almost every single day because things get moved around by customers. We start the day by sweeping the sidewalk out front, though the dust usually comes back within an hour or two. There is an old clock on the wall that ticks a bit louder than it probably should, but we have gotten used to it over the months. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few minutes in the afternoon, and we have to use flashlights to see the inventory in the back. It is not a very modern place, and the paint is peeling a little bit near the ceiling in the corner. We spend a lot of time weighing out portions and tying small knots in the plastic bags. The sink in the back has a slow drip that we keep meaning to fix, but we never quite get around to it. It is just a normal shop where we do our work and go home at night.
