Cms Securitas Ltd. is based right near the Vakola Bridge in Santacruz East. Our office is in Dalvi Chawl, which is inside the D’Mello Compound on D.M. Road. If you know Mumbai, you know this area is as real as it gets. It is loud, it is crowded, and there is always something happening right outside the door. The chawl setting means we are right in the thick of things every day. It is not a fancy glass tower like the ones in BKC. We have a modest space where we coordinate all the security work and shifts. You will see staff coming in and out at all hours because security does not really have an off switch. The walls are a bit thin, and you can hear the traffic from the bridge and the horns constantly, but you get used to it after a week. There are benches for people to wait on and a lot of clipboards hanging on the walls. We keep the paperwork for the guards and the sites we look after in old metal cupboards that have been around forever. D’Mello Compound has its own rhythm, and we are just a part of that daily bustle. It is a practical place for a practical job. We do not spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. Most of the desks have been here as long as the company itself. We just focus on the schedules and making sure everyone is where they should be. It is messy but it works.
