Clamp-Wel Engineering Works

Clamp-Wel Engineering Works is located up on the 11th floor of Kailash Tower. We’re right on Link Road in Mulund West, very close to the Nahur station. Being so high up in building 1102 gives us a bit of a break from the street level noise, though you can still hear the local trains pulling in and out if the window is open. The commute is easy for most of us because of the station proximity, which is a blessing in Mumbai. Our workshop and office space is all about utility. We have clamps and welding equipment around, and the smell of metal is just part of the environment here. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find plush carpets or modern art. Instead, we have sturdy workbenches and shelves filled with parts. The staff here has a way of working together without needing to say much. We know the rhythm of the machines and the deadlines that keep us busy. On hot afternoons, the AC in the office section is a relief, even if it makes a bit of a rattling sound. We keep a kettle in the corner for making coffee when the afternoon slump hits. Dealing with engineering works means things can get messy, but we try to keep the paperwork organized on the desks. We’ve been in Mulund for quite some time now, and the view of the skyline from the 11th floor has changed quite a bit since we first moved in. It's just a place of work.
